About Superior BoatsSuperior Boats evolved from South Auckland Boat Repairs Ltd (SABR) through company director Sam Dorotich. Sam started business in July 1986 from a garage in Manurewa, specialising in small boat and gel coat repairs, spray painting, antifouling and alterations for local boat builders, dealers and insurance companies throughout Auckland. The second building was then built and set up solely for fibreglass laminating and manufacturing. In this building we:
With the desire to manufacture our own product, Superior Boats Limited was formed and the Marksply 700 hull mould was purchased, a new deck mould made and the Superior 750 was put into production. In the mids 1990's Superior Boats bought the Formula 33 hull mould and thereby the demand shifted to these launches, with a large number of hull and deck packages being produced. In the early millennium all the royalty rights expired and we were then free to rebrand the Formula 33 and alter the boat significantly, hence the "Superior 1050" with it's extended cockpit came into being. All the boats sold under the "Superior 1050" name are factory finished here in Manurewa by Superior Boats Limited. In the late 1990's Superior Boats built and sold another popular product, the Superior Shuttle trailer, details of which is can be seen at the Superior Shuttle web site. |
